How to Reach Amarnath from Delhi

By Road

  • Distance from Delhi to Amarnath Cave is around 850 km.

  • You can travel via Delhi – Jammu – Srinagar – Baltal/Pahalgam route.

  • Volvo buses and private taxis are available. Road travel takes around 18–20 hours.

  • The nearest railway station is Jammu Tawi Railway Station.

  • Trains from Delhi to Jammu take around 9–10 hours.

  • From Jammu, you can reach Srinagar by taxi, bus, or shared cabs (approx. 260 km).

  • The nearest airport to Amarnath is Srinagar International Airport (SXR).

  • You can take a direct flight from Delhi to Srinagar (around 1.5 hours).

  • From Srinagar, travel to either Baltal (95 km) or Pahalgam (92 km) – the two base camps of the Amarnath Yatra.

How to Reach Amarnath from Lucknow

  • You can take a flight from Lucknow to Srinagar (direct or via Delhi).

  • From Srinagar, proceed to Baltal or Pahalgam by taxi/bus.

By Train

  • Board a train from Lucknow to Jammu Tawi Railway Station. Travel time is 14–16 hours.

  • From Jammu, continue towards Srinagar and then to the base camps.

By Road

  • Distance from Lucknow to Amarnath Cave is approx. 1,300 km.

  • You can travel by car, taxi, or bus through the route: Lucknow – Kanpur – Agra – Delhi – Jammu – Srinagar – Baltal/Pahalgam.

  • It takes about 24–26 hours by road.
